Raajratna Metal Industries Ltd (Raajratna Metals) has developed new products of stainless steel wires to substitute imports. The company feels that consumer awareness about the benefits of stainless steel is forcing a shift from traditional materials such as galvanized steel or PVC coated steel wire to stainless steel wire products. This is particularly so with modular kitchens which are becoming very popular these days. These modular kitchens use wire products extensively for a host of modern day conveniences for the housewife.


Kitchenware / Wire baskets

Raajratna Metals has developed a special surface stainless steel wire (electropolishing quality Ð EPQ), which is well suited for this application. According to the company, the surface is free from pits, scratches or pinholes or dents which makes the finished product of a superior quality. It is also well priced to suit the Indian market. The products, which can be produced by this EPQ stainless steel wire, are: easy stack pull outs, classic corners and bath utilities, D-tray carrousel etc. These products are now readily available in the Indian market.


Bicycle and Motorcycle spokes

According to Mr Naresh Sanghvi of Raajratna Metals, the company has succeeded in getting the best surface and mechanical properties for this application. In the near future, the company foresees the application of this wire for two wheelers.
