Indian
Stainless Steel Market Research 2004-05
The
survey covers India’s stainless steel production, imports,
exports and usage trends in established, emerging and nascent
market sectors for the period April 2004 to March 2005. The
report is based on extensive data collection and interviews
with a good cross section of producers, traders, importers,
exporters and end-use product manufacturers all over India.
The
report makes some surprising revelations about the scale of
the Indian market. For instance, Indian stainless steel production
has been growing at 16% over the last 15 years to hit a melting
production figure of 1.87 million tonnes in 2004-05. Future
growth forecast indicates that the existing capacity of primary
producers and down-stream processors and fabricators has to
be multiplied in order to cater to the rising domestic and export
demand of over 7 million tonnes in 2015-16.
The Indian Stainless Steel Market Research Report is available in the printed version.

Design Guidelines for the Selection and Use
of Stainless Steels (publication No. 9 014, 52 pages) - This
publication helps designers better understand the large family
of corrosion-resistant stainless steels. Describes typical corrosion
modes, and how to select materials to minimize or prevent corrosion.
Forty-seven figures help illustrate important characteristics
of and end-use applications for 57 different stainless steel
types, including chemical compositions, physical and mechanical
properties, properties at elevated temperatures, and heat-transfer
characteristics.
Timeless Stainless Architecture (publication
No. 11 023, 41 pages) - This publication describes sixteen noteworthy,
international, exterior stainless steel architectural applications
that were completed between 1929 and 1985. At least one example
is provided from every decade. These buildings and structures
